Planning The Ultimate Friendsgiving
This year gathering with the ones you love over a delicious meal is more meaningful than ever. Thanksgiving allows us to enjoy family, time-honored traditions, and recipes passed down through generations. During the holiday season, why not share your thanks for your friends too? Friendsgiving is not only a chance to celebrate friendship, it’s a way to gather around the table to create new traditions and try different foods.
When planning a Friendsgiving, the three most important things to remember are: friends, food and fun.
Friends:
This might be an obvious one for Friendsgiving, but let this serve as opportunity to bring together friends you haven’t seen often or a chance to show your number one besties some extra love. This is also a chance to mix and mingle amongst old friends and new ones.
Food:
The center of every holiday is of course food! The Fresh Grocer Recipe Shop has a huge selection of recipes for you to check out that everyone will love. Some of our favorites are: Cornbread Sausage Stuffing, Butternut Squash Risotto, and Sweet Potato Pie.
Make food a conversation starter by encouraging all of your friends to bring a dish that’s traditional to their family or heritage. This will give everyone the chance to try something they maybe haven’t in the past and pick up some new recipes for themselves.
Fun:
It’s the holiday season, it’s time to let loose a little! Get the festivities going by having a DIY cocktail or mocktail station (we recommend this Apple Cider Kombucha Cocktail or this recipe for Cranberry Seltzer Mocktail).
In the spirit of giving thanks, put everyone’s name on a piece of paper and throw them in a bowl. Have each guest go around the table to select a name and share why they are grateful for that person. It’s a simple, yet special way, to really feel the Friendsgiving love.
Don’t forget to decorate with beautiful floral arrangements from The Fresh Grocer.
