Not recommended for synthetic fibers (acrylic, acetate or fabrics containing more than 35% polyester). Instead, use Rit® DyeMore Synthetic Fiber Dye. Package color reflects approximate results when dyeing white or off-white 100% cotton. Tips: One package will dye 1 pound of dry fabric (i.e. 2 adult large t-shirts). To achieve a darker or more intense color, double dye quantity. For best results, add 1 cup of salt to dye bath for cotton, rayon, or linen. Add 1 cup of vinegar to dye bath for nylon, silk or wool. If dyeing to a lighter or different color, use Rit® Color Remover before dyeing to lighten existing color in most fabrics. Use Rit® ColorStay Dye Fixative immediately after dyeing cotton, linen or rayon to maximize color retention.
