Preparation & Usage
Directions: Drain and flush the cooling system in a safe area. Make sure no children or pets are in the area. Never allow coolant to drain onto the ground or into a storm drain. Observe all local laws and regulations when collecting and disposing of antifreeze coolant. Begin draining with the engine cold and the ignition off. Remove key from the ignition to prevent accidental start. Never remove the radiator cap from a hot engine. Remove radiator cap and drain coolant into a large bucket. Drain the entire contents of the cooling system. Flush the system with fresh water to clean the engine block. If rust or sludge is present, use a radiator cooling system flush. Close all outlets. Check cooling system to ensure that all components (hoses, clamps, etc.) are in satisfactory condition and that there are no leaks. Add the number of quarts of ShopRite Antifreeze shown on the chart to give desired protection. Fill the remainder of the system with water. For best results, run the engine with the radiator cap off and the heater on full to mix the coolant and expel air. Recheck the coolant level and add water as necessary to the level recommended by the owner's manual. Refit radiator cap. Never use pure antifreeze in radiator. Always add some water. Maximum freeze protection is -84°F, 70% anti-freeze & 30% water. For best corrosion protection maintain at least 33% antifreeze in the radiator. Recheck coolant level occasionally & replenish as required. To Open - Push Down & Turn Close Tightly
